My forefathers, as well as others, fought and served for our rights and freedoms and that included the First Amendment right of Free Speech!
Unfortunately, too many of us feel that our individual voices do not matter and will never be heard. As a result, too many people do not Speak Up or Speak Out!
Personally, I have experienced great frustration over how difficult it is, if not how impossible it is, to obtain the most basic of information related to our rights as American Citizens and Laborers.
Therefore, the goal of this website is to inform people and reassure them, through personal accounts, they are not alone in their experiences and need to be heard!
Thank you for contacting me to express your views on legislation to protect children from sex offenders. I appreciate hearing from you about such an important issue.
As a father and grandfather, I know the importance of protecting children from predatory adults. I believe that as child predators find new ways to exploit children, we must work to adapt our laws to keep pace with the changes in technology and ensure the health and safety of our nation's greatest asset - our youth.
On July 27, 2006-the 25th anniversary of the tragic abduction and murder of six-year old Adam Walsh-President Bush signed into law the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act (P.L. 109-248), of which I was a proud co-sponsor. I worked closely with John Walsh, Adam's father, to ensure this important legislation passed the Senate, and I continue to support greater protections for our children. Among its many important provisions, this law established a national sex offender registry to make it easier for local law enforcement to track sex offenders and prevent repeat offenses. The law also authorizes much-needed grants to help local law enforcement agencies establish and integrate sex offender registry systems.
You may also be interested to know that I cosponsored the PROTECT Our Children Act, which was signed into law on October 13, 2008. This bill helps law enforcement use new technology to track individuals who trade child pornography on the internet. The PROTECT bill creates a task force within the Department of Justice and gives resources and training to local and federal law enforcement so they can use this vital information to bring predators to justice.
I am committed to continuing to use my leadership position in the Senate to enact laws that provide greater protections for our children. Please be assured that I will keep your concerns in mind as I work for the state of Nevada in the 111th Congress.

I am writing to you today about Jessica's Law and California's new proposed changes to the law where sex offenders that have repeated their crime(s), or show the potential to repeat their crime(s) (child sex offenders as well),will never be released back into the public. I want to state that I emphatically support this legislation and think it should be enforced nation wide. I am an adult survivor (the word survivor is barely adequate) of mental, physical, and sexual abuse as well as multiple rapes, and I am here to tell you that the victims of these horrific crimes never fully recover...we are damamged for life (please visit www.catanalbarnes.2itb.com to see for yourself why this topic is so important to me)! I personally believe that sex offenders (all of them) should be kept in general population, no more special treatment, and have their eyes removed!!! It is a FACT that sexual desire, or lust, is sight driven, and it is a fact that these disgusting amoebas stalk their victims (again, the vision)! Please, support California's efforts, and consider nationwide legislation of this law. I have stated over and over, the world is in need of a Children's Bill of Rights!
