ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS ILLEGAL!

Copy of an e-mail I sent to Barack Obama 05/20/10: As of your declaration of solidarity with the Mexican president, I will not be voting for you in the next presidential election! You, your administration, and any politician that supports amnesty for ILLEGALS will be elected out of office! You keep trying to say that Arizona's immigration law is unconstitutional and promotes discrimination, yet we have the Homeland Security Act and the Patriot Act that allow the same discriminatory tactics to be carried out against American citizens! Last year, I was detained by a police officer for 30 minutes (I am Caucasian and poor) while he ran my DL and grilled me as to where I was going, for what reason, and with whom! I was, therefore, profiled and there isn't anything I can do about it. If you provide amnesty, you will be a criminal according to the current Federal Immigration Laws as our government is not supposed to allow immigration when American citizens are unemployed and being denied access to what they need for basic survival! None of us are saying we don't want immigration, what we are saying is that we want LEGAL immigration. Our nation also needs to end the right of a baby born on our soil to be a natural citizen unless both parents are legal citizens of the United States of America-France had to do it to protect their nation! You, as a professor of the Constitution, know that the law in Arizona is NOT unconstitutional! I am sorry that I, and my family, voted for you!

I agree that immigration is part of the United States structure. However, ILLEGAL immigrants should never be allowed entrance into a country...period! Illegal means Against The Law and should be handled that way. I believe Arizona's governor did what she had to do because our government has failed to secure our borders and make it known that anyone entering this country illegally will be deported! Illegal immigrants invalidate the naturalization process. Why bother to have a process, just drop the border restrictions and let everyone come and go as they please! How can we have policies and laws like Homeland Security and the Patriot Act and then say we should do nothing about the illegal immigration? Nobody is saying that ALL immigration should stop, it does help shape who we are as a nation. What we do want is to STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION! Please!

Thank you for contacting me regarding immigration. I appreciate hearing from you.
 
Despite efforts to pass a comprehensive immigration reform measure (S. 1639) in the 110th Congress, the legislation was blocked from coming up for a vote on June 28, 2007. As a result, the Senate was unable to enact legislation that would have strengthened border security, put in place an effective and efficient employer verification system, reformed our legal immigration system to take pressure off the border, and required immigrants here illegally to apply for legal status, pay taxes, learn English, and pass criminal background checks, or face deportation. Instead, by doing nothing, our country is left with the same problems that have plagued our broken immigration system for years.
In the absence of federal action, state governments and municipalities have stepped in to fill the vacuum. Arizona's Governor Jan Brewer signed Senate Bill 1070 into law on April 23, 2010. This law allows law enforcement officials to stop, detain, or arrest individuals based on a reasonable suspicion that an individual is not lawfully present in the United States.
The enactment of this bill provides another important example of why we need to fix our broken system. While the first step in immigration reform must include border security, we cannot approach this important issue in a piecemeal fashion. Republicans and Democrats need to work together to pass comprehensive immigration reform that is tough on lawbreakers, fair to taxpayers, respectful of civil liberties and practical to implement.

For well over 20 years, I have been very pro-active in the communities I have lived in. In my opinion, there isn't anything better than helping people.

  • Informed parents of California laws regarding public schools and parental access rights~Sunnyvale, California.
  • Served on a school site council~Sunnyvale, California.
  • Served as a parent volunteer for every class my children were in until I pulled them out of public school to home school them~California, Nevada, Oregon, and Oklahoma.
  • Coached two YMCA Summer Baseball teams so they would not have to cancel the program~Roseberg, Oregon. 
  • Co-founded the Student Art Association for Rogers University in Claremore, Oklahoma.
  • Served as vice president of the Student Art Association for Rogers University (Claremore, Oklahoma).
  • Served as secretary for Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (Rogers University~Claremore, Oklahoma).
  • Founded and served as off-site representative for the Pryor Campus of Rogers University in Oklahoma.
  • Gotten a professor disciplined (resigned after the class was completed) for making fun of a student and getting the other students to make fun of the student (ME!)~Rogers University in Claremore, Oklahoma.
  • Helped the public school system in Pryor, Oklahoma understand parental rights and the laws regarding what can and cannot be done to a student (Example: corpal punishment still exists there, unless you exercise your rights)! 
  • Stood up for South African's brought to the U.S. for vocational training against racism~Pryor, Oklahoma (this was not a safe nor popular thing for me to do).
  • Served as vice president of the PTA at Lincoln Elementary School in Sparks, Nevada for 1 school year.
  • Gotten multiple professors disciplined for bad behavior and/or moonlighting at the University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Helped students know their 'educational rights' and exercise them~University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Stood up for students that were being lied to by some of the financial aid people (blatant discrimination)~University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Stood up for students being harassed by the University Police~University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Served as vice president of the student art association~University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Served as president of the student art association~University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Served as secretary for Alpha Sigma Lambda--a national honor society for non-traditional undergraduate students (typically over the age of 24) who achieve and maintain outstanding scholastic standards and leadership characteristics while adroitly handling additional responsibilities of work and family~University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Worked with the Reno/Sparks Indian Colony to help keep Oil-Dri out of Northern Nevada. 
  • Served as the student representative for the 'Barn' project--Peter Goin's Advanced Photography Class~University of Nevada, Reno (this was actually thrust upon me during grievances over the project).
  • Gotten a laptop replaced by the CEO of Toshiba after criminal actions by their repair center (drove around with my grievance written all over my entire minivan and wrote a letter)~Reno, Nevada.
  • Served as vice president for the parent-teacher group during Rainshadow Charter High School's first year~Reno, Nevada.
  • Gotten medical bills written off~Reno, Nevada.
  • Gotten a doctor/clinic disciplined and fined~Reno, Nevada (they belong to a different company now and they no longer handle workers' comp claims).
  • Gotten my employer fined for mishandling my workers' comp claim~Reno, Nevada (my employer is located in Tennessee).
  • Gotten my employer fined for improperly paying me (they did not have a qualifying health plan and they did not even come close to the minimum wage required)~Reno, Nevada.
  • Obtained the title to our home despite the illegal actions of the person who sold it to us~Reno, Nevada.
  • Obtained a new refrigerator for free~Reno, Nevada.
  • Obtained a new heater & windows for our home~Reno, Nevada.
  • & more.

Currently...

  • I am working on getting indecent advertising banned from the street level in the Reno/Sparks, Nevada area (I began working on this in the summer of 2009, ran into health and money problems, but now I am back)!
  • I am providing information to Nevada residents so they can be pro-active with regards to their employers (this is tricky because Nevada is a Right-to-Work state which means that an employer can abuse and exploit their workers via the threat that any actions on the part of the employee will get them fired) and others!
  • I will soon be taking action against Nevada's Workers' Compensation laws and/or policies...I do NOT intend to let this go NOR do I intend to go away!

As I sit here in Burger King eating my lunch, thoughts of Donovan fill my mind. Donovan is a stout six feet tall, has eyes as blue as sapphire, hair as dark as the night sky, and a smile that could melt a glacier. He was a very important person in my life, for he was the first person that I made love with. As I reach into the depths of my memory, I am able to recall just about every detail, and re-experience the moment as though it happened yesterday! It was a Saturday afternoon in mid December. We were at a lake hidden amongst the huge redwood trees of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The sky was filled with clusters of soft white clouds, you could see every breath in the crisp mountain air, and we were surrounded by the voices of nature. Donovan and I strolled along the path that hugged the shoreline of the lake. After about an hour, we decided to find a place to sit and talk. That place ended up being a secluded patch of grass, on a hill, overlooking the lake. The two of us talked for what must have been an hour when Donovan slowly leaned over and gently kissed neck. I could feel my body tremble with anticipation! I had no idea what to expect at this point so I leaned over and kissed his neck. As I sat up, Donovan reached over with his warm soft hand and caressed my face. As we gazed into each other's eyes, he pulled me to him and he kissed me very tenderly. His lips were warm and soft like baby's skin. I returned every movement and every touch! The two of us took a break just long enough for Donovan to spread out his coat for us to lie on. After what seemed to be an eternity of passionate kissing, Donovan asked me to make love with him. I was too caught up in the moment to say anything but yes! As I lay there looking into his eyes, he began to unbutton my shirt, one button at a time. When he unfastened the last button, he slid the shirt back over my shoulders and began kissing my neck. Then, Donovan gently unfastened my bra, revealing my womanhood. As he gently touched and caressed every inch of my body, I trembled with excitement! Suddenly, I felt my jeans being unfastened. I started to feel a little nervous so I sat up and asked Donovan to do the same, but as I looked into his sweet handsome face, I no longer felt any resistance to what was happening! I reached over, cradled his sweet face in my hands, and guided his lips to mine. As Donovan lay back on the coat, he took me with him. I kissed him passionately as I began to remove his shirt. I placed his arms above his head, slid the shirt up over his arms and began exploring every inch of his exposed body with my lips. His skin was like silk, so soft and smooth. I kissed and explored my way back to his warm and waiting lips. As we kissed, I ran my fingers gently and slowly through his hair. My body was alive with sensations! I knew Donovan's body was aroused as I could feel him trembling! Before we knew it, the two of us were totally exposed to one another. Our two bodies became one. Donovan took his time and made me feel very special! I loved every sensation that flowed through me as his hands glided softly over the curves of my body, as his soft warm lips made contact with mine, and as we lay in each other's caress. Somehow, I don't think that I will ever be able to forget that special time with Donovan, and I don't think that I want to.
